Ruud Huijbregts is the current organist of the Catharina Church and city-organist of Eindhoven.

Ruud Huijbregts studied at the Brabants Conservatory in Tilburg organ with Hub.Houët and Bram Beekman, harpsichord with Dekker and choral conducting with Jan Boogaarts and Cees Rotteveel.

Furthermore, he attended several courses a.o. at Luigi Tagliavini, Albert de Klerk and Kamiel d’Hooghe (organ) and Joop van Sun (orchestra conducting).

Ruud Huijbregts is active in several areas: as an organist and harpsichordist / continuo player and choral conductor, he already gave many concerts locally and abroad, and he gave several radio and television performances and CD recordings.

Organ concerts he gave eg in St. Paul’s Cathedral in London, the Utrecht cathedral and the Cathedral Basilica of St. Bavo in Haarlem. Together with the Brabant Orchestra, he played in the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam and at the concert organ in the Music “Frits Philips in Eindhoven.

He is co-founder of the Eindhoven Vocal Ensemble, the choir with which he has since 1981 performed many major choral works: eg. Bach’s St. John and St. Matthew Passion, B Minor Mass and Magnificat, Mozart’s Requiem and Monteverdi’s Maria Vespers, also many other works by Toebosch, Manneken, Kodaly, Britten and Pärt.

He also was co-founder of Friends of the Organ Foundation Music in Cathrien (in 1997 merged into the Foundation Church Concerts Eindhoven) and the Baroque Orchestra “Brabantsch Muzyk Collegie.”

A CD was released with the complete works of Herman Hollanders, composer in the early 17th century and organist of the Catharinachurch in Eindhoven.

Currently, Ruud Huijbregts works as organist / conductor of the Eindhoven Stadtkirche St. Cathrien, as conductor of the Eindhoven Vocal Ensemble and the choir Vokollage of the Eindhoven Student Music “Quadrivium”, and he is lecturer at the CKE music school in Eindhoven.
